Design for canvas bag, commissioned by the Berlin Punk Rock Market.

Whilst livin in Berlin I sold at a lot of markets. The BPRM was by far my favourite. Solid vibes, an eclectic crowd of all types of alternative people and birds of paradise, truly a place that made me feel at home. When they asked me to design a tote bag for them, I was beyond stoked.

The design was vaguely inspired by Black Flag graphics, I wanted it to be playful, happy, and a little rough around the edges. Which is precisely how being around punks usually makes me feel. Because of this I took devils, which generally have bad associations, and put them in a classic pose of kids playing. I feel like this signifies well how alternative people are often looked at. Something scary, and something to avoid, but once you are amongst them, you find out they are much more lovely than the ‘normal’ looking ones.
